PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a holding force of a driving device required when bringing a valve element into contact with or separating from an opening by attraction of an electromagnet. SOLUTION: A stem 4 is provided so as to extend in a direction being in contact with and or separated from a valve element 3 urged to a side of closing an opening 61 and the opening 61. The stem 4 is made to penetrate through a wall 57 of a combustion chamber to be slidably supported, and a movable member 7 is allowed to abut to an end 4a of the stem 4 and coaxially positioned. An armature 11 attached to the movable member 7 is provided, and an electromagnet 15 for opening valve and an electromagnet 15 for closing valve are provided so as to sandwich the armature 11 therebetween. The electromagnet 15 for opening valve is displaced and a lift amount adjusting device 28 for changing a lift amount of the valve element 3 is provided. The lift amount adjusting device 28 has a drive device 30, a worm reduction gear 33, and a sliding screw 38.
