PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate and improve the temperature characteristic of a piezoelectric substrate by incorporating a capacitor for temperature compensation in a surface acoustic wave device. SOLUTION: In this device, a capacitor C which compensates the change with the temperature of the anti-resonance frequency of a series surface acoustic wave resonator Rs is connected to the terminal of the resonator Rs arranged on the piezoelectric substrate. That is, the series surface acoustic wave resonator Rs, a parallel surface acoustic wave resonator Rp, and a capacitor C are connected from an input terminal 1 on the piezoelectric substrate, and the series, surface acoustic wave resonator Rs and the capacitor C are connected in parallel. From this connection point, the series surface acoustic wave resonator Rs, the parallel surface acoustic wave resonator Rp, and the capacitor C are connected in the same manner, an the terminal of one series surface acoustic wave resonator Rs, is connected to an output terminal 2. The parallel surface acoustic wave resonator Rp is connected to the output terminal 2. These parallel surface acoustic wave resonator Rp are all connected to an earth terminal.
