PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a mirror from being damaged, and to shorten a washing time. SOLUTION: This washer is provided, in its washer main body 1, with a first vehicular width detector for detecting a lateral width of a vehicle of ordinary size or more as a detection means for detecting the lateral width of a washed vehicle 2, and a second vehicular width detector for detecting a vehecular width of a vehicle of small size. An evasion operation for a mirror 2a is conducted by a side nozzle 13 as well known when the lateral width of the vehicle of ordinary size or more is detected by the first detector, and the evasion operation of the mirror 2a is not executed when the lateral width of the vehicle of small size is detected by the second detector. Damage of the mirror 2a is prevented thereby and useless operation is prevented from being executed to shorten a washing time, since the evasion operation for the mirror 2a is not executed by the side nozzle 13 when determined as the vehicle of small size based on the lateral width of the washed vehicle 2.
