PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a variable displacement compressor capable of obtaining desired displacement restoration characteristic to a displacement corresponding to cooling load from the minimum discharge displacement of the compressor even by high and low pressure of suction refrigerant gas at the time of end of emergency time control when control is shifted from emergency time control to ordinary time control. SOLUTION: A control means changes an input current value Ix for an electric drive part up to an input current value target I2 corresponding to external information in a predetermined time T when control is shifted from acceleration cut control to ordinary time control and determines a change pattern of the input current value Ix for the electric drive part in the predetermined time T based on a pressure Px of suction refrigerant gas at the time of end of acceleration cut control which is detected by a suction pressure sensor.
