PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic photoconductive compound usable also as a sensor material and a material for an EL element and an electrostatic recording element in addition to that it has high sensitivity, no change in various characteristics is caused even after repeated use and the stable performance is exhibited by disposing a photosensitive layer containing at least one organic photoconductive compound on an electrically conductive substrate. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor has a photosensitive layer containing at least one organic photoconductive compound of the formula on the electrically conductive substrate. In the formula, R1 and R2 are each H, alkyl which may have a substituent, aralkyl, aryl or a heterocyclic group, the alkyl is, e.g. methyl, ethyl, n-propyl or isopropyl, Ar is aryl which may have a substituent or a heterocyclic group and the aryl is, e.g. phenyl, 4- methylphenyl or 2-methyoxyphenyl.
