The vehicle seat (10) is mounted on feet (12), which are mounted to slide forwards and rearwards on the floor (24) of the vehicle, following a horizontal primary axis (X-X'). The seat is mounted such that the feet slide vertically on a second axis (Z-Z'). Mechanisms, contained within the feet, are provided such that the displacement of the feet along the primary axis produces a displacement of the seat along the second axis.
