A gear mechanism for side/bottom-hung doors for displacing push rods of a side/bottom fitting to a rotational position, a tipping position and a locking position comprises, in addition, a latch (9) guided within gear box (4) and capable of being retracted against spring force (10). A handle socket (11) is, in respect to a gear wheel (16) of the gear wheel driver, arranged for angular lost motion in an angle corresponding to the angle of rotation of the door handle (18) for operating the latch. In the lost motion zone of handle socket (11) a cam (19) of handle socket (11) runs up on to a guide face (20) of an angled two-arm latch lever (21), which retracts latch (9). A second cam (28) is provided in the region of tipping position on a disc (13) fixed to the socket so that latch (9) is also retracted in the tipping position. The rack and gear mechanism comprises a gear wheel (16) with two gear rim segments (26, 29) of different diameter and a stepped rack (17). The gear wheel with larger diameter (26) acts during actuation of the handle to the locking position, and the gear wheel of smaller diameter (29) to the tipping position. <IMAGE> |
