PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anisotropic cylindrical magnet capable of reducing leakage magnetic field and improving the torque of a motor. SOLUTION: This is a cylindrical magnet wherein two opposed regions of its cylindrical inner circumferential surface are denoted as operating surfaces 1a and 1b and the corresponding outer regions as nonoperating surfaces 2a and 2b. In this case, the axes of easy magnetization of magnetic powder particles converge and align themselves toward central regions of the surfaces 1a an 1b, as viewed in a cross section taken along the length of the two regions, and extend from the nonoperating surfaces to reach the operating surfaces while curving inward at one end of two ends 3a/3a' and 3b/3b' along their length.
