PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weight balancing device of an optical instrument constituted so that weight can be easily balanced and adjusting ability can be objectively grasped even when a fitting state of an auxiliary optical instrument is changed. SOLUTION: This weight balancing device is constituted so that the weight of the optical instrument is balanced. The optical instrument is provided with a base 34 arranged at a device main body through a base supporting body 33 so that it can be moved up and down by the action of a main coil spring 41, a main optical instrument fitted to the base 34 and an optical element fitting part to which the auxiliary optical instrument can be fitted. Then, the weight balancing device is provided with an auxiliary coil spring 2 intervening between the case 34 and the supporting body 33 in an action state, an ability adjustment mechanism part using an adjustment screw body 2 adjusting ability acting on the base 34 from the spring 2 according to the change of the fitting state of the auxiliary optical instrument fitted to the optical element fitting part and a division display part displaying a value of the ability acting on the base 34 from the spring 2 according as the ability is adjusted by the screw body 5.
