A polymerizable, solid aliphatic polyurethane (I) with olefinic double bonds and a very narrow melting interval in the range 40-200 deg C, derived from: (A) linear aliphatic di-isocyanate(s); (B) aliphatic compound(s) with at least 2 isocyanate-reactive groups and/or water; and (C) olefinically unsaturated compound(s) with an isocyanate-reactive group. Independent claims are also included for: (a) heat- and/or light-curable coating powder containing (I); (b) coatings obtained from this powder; (c) optionally primed substrates with at least one coating as in (b), especially bodywork for cars and utility vehicles, industrial components (including plastic parts, packaging, coils and electrical components) and furniture.
