PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology, by which a field skutterudite compound having a high thermoelectric performance can be obtained. SOLUTION: A thermoelectric conversion material is manufactured by inserting Yb, which is a bivalent ion having a large ionic radius into two empty frames of a unit skutterudite lattice produced by Fe4-xCoxSb12, which is obtained by replacing part of Fe4Sb12 or Fe with Co as a guest atom.
