PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molded article holding member capable of reducing the number of production processes for a chuck to reduce a cost, and certainly detecting retention of a molded article according to the molded articles having various shapes with communizing the chuck itself. SOLUTION: In this molded article holding member, an installation member is fixed to a drive member. A movable member having the front face mounted with an elastic pad abutting on a molded article is movably supported to the installation member. An elastic member is provided between the installation member and the movable member to energize the movable member to a position normally apart from the installation member by elastic force of the elastic member. The molded article holding member is provided with a detector turning on by the movable member moving toward the installation member against the elastic force of the elastic member when the elastic pad abuts on the molded article.
