PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric water heater that water entering inside a device body is speedily discharged by simple structure without flowing into the upper side of the device body as it is. SOLUTION: The electric water heater is provided with an inner container for housing a liquid, a heater for heating the liquid within the inner container, an external body in the shape of a bottomed cylinder for housing the inner container and the heater and electric parts having lamps, switches, etc., on the upper side or lateral side of the external body, and a hole for draining is arranged on the outer periphery of the bottom surface of the external body.
