PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vaporized steam dump preventing device for an internal combustion engine to reliably prevent the dump of vaporized steam in a fuel tank to the atmosphere, even if the altitude, i.e., an atmospheric pressure, is changed. SOLUTION: In this vaporized steam dump preventing device 1 for an internal combustion engine provided with a vaporized steam passage 14 to interconnect a fuel tank 18 and the intake system of an internal combustion engine 10 and a control valve 3 situated in the middle of the vaporized steam passage 4 and opening and closing the vaporized steam passage 4, a control means 2 is provided to control a control valve 3 by a relative pressure between the internal pressure of the fuel tank 18 and an atmospheric pressure, so that during operation and a stop of the internal combustion engine 10, the internal pressure in the fuel tank 18 is decreased to a value lower than an atmospheric pressure.
