PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover material easy in attachment and detachment and capable of attachment even when panel thickness is varied on the cover material for protecting the side end of a door panel. SOLUTION: This cover material is a substantially L-shaped long material having a side piece 2 and an end piece 3, a claw 4 fitted to the locking groove 12 of a panel face is projected in the inside of the side piece 2, an insertion piece 5 fitted to a fitting groove 13 formed on a panel side end face 11 is vertically bent on the edge of the end piece 3, and a small locking piece 6 is formed on the surface of the insertion piece 5.
