PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polymer which can greatly reduce the content of the monomer raw material remaining in the polymer. SOLUTION: According to this method for manufacturing a polymer, a monomer is supplied continuously or intermittently to a polymerizer to carry out polymerization in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator (a). An azo-type polymerization initiator (b) which has a 10-hr half-life period at 50 deg.C or below is added in the range of 0.5-20% by mass based on the radical polymerization initiator (a) after the completion of the supply of the monomer or when the reaction rate of the monomer reaches 95 mol% or more in order to perforrn aging reaction at a temperature in the range specified in formula I: Tb+10<=T<=100 [wherein Tb is a temperature (in deg.C) at which the azo-type polymerization initiator (b) has a 10-hr half-life period; and T is a temperature (in deg.C) for the aging reaction].
