catalytic cleaning of gases; treatment of relief (vapor of acrylonitrile) from reactors for reduction of contamination of atmospheric air. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has housing and covers with pipe unions. Vertical housing is provided with catalytic elements arranged in succession in way of gas flow and secured on cassettes; clearances formed by vertical surface of these elements and vertical surface of cassettes, vertical surface of element and lower surface of subsequent cassette, upper surface of inner and upper cover of housing, vertical surface of insert and vertical surface of housing perform function of expansion pieces. Last clearance is sealed up by thermal packing. To exclude flow of gas mixture between cassette wall and catalytic insert, cassette is provided with bead which forms labyrinth seal together with bead of higher cassette, vertical surface of catalytic element and vertical surface of cassette.
