PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for controlling the open loop/closed loop of a process for certainly reading a function program with prescribed frequency in an easy and simple method. SOLUTION: In this method for controlling the open loop and closed loop of a process using a control program divided into a plurality of function programs (E, F, G, and H) processed in a real time with prescribed frequency, at least one counter (ZE, ZF, ZG, and ZH) counts after the processing of the function programs (E, F, G, and H), and increases the count value only the one. In this case, the count value is searched at regular intervals.
