A device to compensate for the axial play of the shaft (4) of a geared motor (1) relative to the housing holder (2,3) on which the shaft is mounted in rotating fashion, is described. It comprises a monolithic distance body (11) that consists of a first and a second end piece (12,13) that have essentially the shape of opposite plates that are attached opposite one another at a distance axially. They are connected together by a number of elastically deformable elements (14) that are suited for allowing a reciprocal approach of these end pieces when the distance body is exposed to an axial pressure. This distance body is defined to be attached in the axially loaded state between one end of the drive shaft and the corresponding shoulder face or stop face that is provided in the housing.
