The metal anti-theft sleeve is formed from a profiled tube section (2) which is force fitted onto the steering shaft. It has undulations forming projecting and hollow parts (3,4) on its surface which engage with the bolt of the shaft locking mechanism. On its inner surface, opposite the hollow parts, it has contact surfaces (5) with the steering shaft.
