摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attachment unit with which an electro-optic device such as a liquid crystal panel can be attached to a prism while decreasing misalignment in the pixels and preventing degradation in the picture quality, and to provide a projector using that attachment unit. SOLUTION: The attachment unit 90 for an electro-optic device has a holding frame 91 of an electro-optic device which holds an electro-optic device, fixing pins 80 to attach the holding frame 91 to the face of a prism 910 with an adhesive, and an absorbing mechanism between the holding frame 91 and the fixing pins 80 to absorb the difference between the displacement of the holding frame 91 by heat and the strength of the adhesive on the fixing pins 80. Since the absorbing mechanism absorbs the influences of thermal expansion of the holding frame 91, deviation of the position of the electro-optic device by the heat generated when the projector is used can be prevented.
