PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fault spot detecting method for a CRT display apparatus which can detect certainly a circuit where an abnormality has occurred, and easy to take a countermeasure at its fault repairing time, even if an abnormality has occurred in the CRT display apparatus and the output +B of a power circuit 1B is interrupted. SOLUTION: The voltage value +B or current value I of a power circuit 1, the voltage values 2 V, 3 V of power sources for a horizontal deflection circuit 2 and a vertical deflection circuit 3, or the collector pulse value PH of a horizontal deflection output transistor TR, and a vertical deflection pulse value PV which represent the amplitude value of the horizontal and vertical deflection circuits 2, 3, the pulse voltage value E or current value 4I of a high- voltage circuit 4 are detected by sensors 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D respectively. If an abnormal value is detected in any of the circuits 1, 2, 3, 4, the abnormal value of the circuit is stored in a non-volatile memory 7 by the aid of a control means 8, and the main power circuit 1 is interrupted and a fault spot is specified.
