PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light scanning device capable of making the device compact and forming an image in an arbitrary resolution and an exposing device using the same without independently providing a light source, a light deflecting means and a control circuit for changing the resolution. SOLUTION: This light scanning device comprises a light source for emitting one laser beam, a beam dividing means for dividing the laser beam to plural beams, a light modulating device for modulating each of the plural laser beams in accordance with image drawing data, and a scanning optical system for deflecting the modulated beams in the main scanning direction on a photosensitive material. A beam expanding means for expanding a beam diameter, an iris plate for restricting the beam diameter of the beam having the expanded beam diameter, and an iris plate control means for operating the iris plate, are provided between the light source and beam dividing means. The iris plate is operated by means of the iris plate control means to change an image drawing resolution.
