PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent influence of thermal accumulation due to a condition of a thermal printer and to secure high quality printing. SOLUTION: This thermal printer comprises a heat radiating time calculating means that obtains a temperature and a driving voltage of a thermal head by using a temperature detecting means and a voltage detecting means, and calculates a radiating time period from supplying of energy at the previous dot line printing to starting of printing at the present dot line wherein the accumulated heat is radiating with respect to an energizing pulse time calculated by an energizing time calculating means based on the inputs. The thermal printer further comprises an energizing time correcting means that executes controlling wherein a correction factor is reduced as the heat radiating time period is reduced and then executes the correction of the energizing pulse time and a thermal head driving means that performs the printing.
