PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accelerator which protects the outward leakage of cooling water contaminated by radioactivity with wimple structure and reduced production cost. SOLUTION: The accelerator is constructed by a proton medical treatment device main body 2 installed inside a shield wall 1, the first cooling water piping 20, through which pure water is flowing, connected to the device main body 2 cooling the same; an air conditioning device 9 connected to the first cooling water piping 20 inside the shield wall 1, cooling the air inside the shield wall 1 by the heat-exchange with pure water; a heat exchanger 21 connected to a first cooling water piping 20 outside the shield wall 1, cooling pure water by heat-exchange; the second cooling water piping 22, through which city water is flowing, connected to the heat exchanger 21, cooling pure water by heat exchange, and a means of cooling 23 cooling above city water.
