PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus which has a lighting means for moving accurately along the sun orbit and standing by a clear sky, thus restarting effective lighting without delay by using a sun sensor tracking, when the weather changes from a clouded sky to the clear sky, even if the lighting apparatus has some working slippage. SOLUTION: The lighting apparatus comprises a lighting means 1, a driving means 2, a sun sensor 3, and a controlling means 4 with an operation part which controls the driving means 2 having pulse motors 6a, 6b to drive lighting means 1 for the lighting apparatus to track a sun orbit operated by the operation part. The error value between a real position and calculated position of the sun are found from a time function and the numbers of output pulses to pulse motor 6a, 6b, respectively, thereby the sun orbit is corrected and calculated.
