INTERFACE CONTROLLER, INTERFACE CONTROL METHOD, AND EXTERNAL STORAGE SUB SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evade efficiency decline accompanying communication time increase by applying an interface protocol capable of performing multiple operations without inviting the physical quantity increase of hardware. SOLUTION: Between an interface protocol control part 100 connected to a host computer by an interface capable of performing multiple operations such as a fiber channel path 4000 and DMACs 130 for transferring data from the interface protocol control part 100 to a data storage memory 140, a large capacity buffer 110 and a control part 120 are provided. The storage of plural data and control information 500 from the host computer to the plural areas of the large capacity buffer 110 and access to the data and the control information 500 inside the large capacity buffer 110 by the DMACs 130 are asynchronously performed by the control part 120. Thus, data transfer to the data storage memory 140 is made possible in the DMACs 130 for a number equal to or less than multiplicity in the interface protocol.
