PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable liquid crystal display device consuming a little power in which display unevenness is prevented. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a control means for changing over a whole surface driving mode making the whole surface of a liquid crystal display panel perform a display by setting the duty ratio of a driving voltage to a value corresponding to the total number of scanning electrodes and a part driving mode making only one part of the display panel perform the display by setting the duty ratio of the driving voltage to be lower than that in the whole surface driving mode and, in the device, an ON voltage Von2 in the part driving mode is set so as to become equal to or higher than an ON voltage Von1 in the whole surface driving mode and, also, an OFF voltage Voff2 in the part driving mode is set so as to become lower than an OFF voltage Voff1 in the whole surface driving mode.
