PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushioning material which protects glass substrates without affecting electronic parts. SOLUTION: A protective cushioning material 1 for protecting a corner of a glass substrate is made up of expended beads formed of polyethylene or polypropylene having an expansion ratio of at least five times or more and a compressive strength of 1.08 MPa or below in a shape having a section approximately in an L-shape. A plurality of grooves 2, 2' for inserting the substrates therein in the depth of 2 to 10 mm with the opening thereof expanded are provided, running along the L-shape, at the inside of the protective cushioning material while guide grooves 3 for fixing devices such as rubbers or tapes are provided at the outside, and four of the protective cushioning materials are used as a unit cushioning material on packaging a plurality of glass substrates together. |
