PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter device suitable for use in measuring engine exhaust gas at high-speed responsiveness, with filter bodies being easily and safely replaceable. SOLUTION: The filter device 8 for measuring engine exhaust gas has filters 10 comprising respective filter bodies 23 and 24 stored in a filter case 13, with the filters 10 inserted in flow passages 6 and 7 through which gas exhausted from an engine 1 flows. The filter 10, held by a filter holder 11 having a heat resisting and insulating grip portion 31, is removably clamped by a filter block 9 having two clamping blocks 38 and 39 and having a pressing mechanism 42 and a clamp mechanism 45.
