PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a (more) compact and light cooking appliance having smoke-sucking functions. SOLUTION: A smoke-sucking port 47 and a exhausting port 35 are provided at one side and the other side of a cooking container 16 of a cooking appliance body 1, respectively. An intake port 27 and the exhausting port 35 are not doubly arranged outside the cooking container 16, thus miniaturizing the cooking appliance body 1 in a horizontal direction. Also, a smoke-sucking fan 31 and a motor 30 are arranged coaxially up and down, and one portion of the smoke- sucking fan 31 is provided at the lower portion of the cooking container 16 so that it crosses the cooking appliance 16 up and down. In this case, the cooking appliance body 1 can also be miniaturized in a horizontal direction and at the same time the cooking surface of the cooking container 16 can be lowered.
