SOLUTION: In the interphone provided with a plurality of door-phone slave units 18 each having a camera 18a and a function of transmitting a signal of a video image photographed by the camera 18a, with a master unit 1 and a sub master unit 1a each having a monitor display section 8 to display a video image, the monitor display section 8 is provided with a character display area A that does not display a video image but displays only characters, the character display area A displays a door-phone slave unit 18 receiving a call, and a monitor button 9b is depressed to select the door-phone slave unit 18 receiving the call so that a user can speech the selected door-phone slave unit.
