PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder capable of making temperatures of nozzles uniform without having a power source capacity corresponding to all the nozzles on a recording head. SOLUTION: A width of a short pulse in a range not ejecting ink is calculated. When recording data is '1', a heat pulse is supplied to each of heaters ready for recording and the short pulse is supplied to each of the heaters except the heaters ready for recording. When the recording data is '0', the short pulse is supplied to all the heaters.
