PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner having a handle of better usability. SOLUTION: This cleaner body, incorporating a dust collection chamber 1 and a lid 6 that covers the dust collection chamber and can be rotated in the front part, and an electric blower 2, is provided with a handle 7 on the top with a grip part 8 arranged in the front-back direction. The handle 7 can move upward, pivoting about the front end, so that the opening operation of the lid 6 becomes easier and more smooth even when the handle 7 is left upward.
