PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for preparing multilayer functional paper by supplying sheet paper material to a plurality of paper binding devices and forming a functional sheet from the supplied paper material is provided, which solves partial loss and remarkably reduces equipment. CONSTITUTION: A process for preparing the titled paper comprises the steps of: winding the transferred substrate on a take-up roller and conveying; supplying paper material having specified viscosity; forming a sheet by passing the supplied paper material between a suction roller and pressure roller; and combining the substrate and sheet, wherein the sheet forming process and substrate and sheet combining process are repeated two or more times. The apparatus comprises a roller with a built-in suction device in which a shell formed by a plurality of penetrating holes is attached on the outer surface of the roller and a wire mesh is attached on the outer surface of the shell.
