PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent electrode that suppresses emission of unnecessary wavelengths when used for a light emitting element, prevents lighting failure of the light emitting element, prolongs the degradation time of the brightness, and further has a good visibility. SOLUTION: The transparent electrode comprises a pigment for absorbing light of unnecessary wavelengths, metal thin film layer (b) formed of zinc oxide containing aluminum oxide, Ag or Ag alloy containing palladium and copper used as a transparent high refractive index thin film (a), gas barrier layer (C) containing silicon dioxide as the main components, and antireflective layer or anti-dazzling layer (D) formed on the visible surface of the transparent gas used.
