PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a figure element selecting method which can facilitate selecting operation after selectable figure elements are narrowed down and a medium stored with a CAD program. SOLUTION: A CAD processing part 2 is equipped with a cursor position information processing part 5, a display control part 6, an element selection part 8, and a filter processing part 9. The cursor position information processing part 5 detects position information on a cursor. The filter processing part 9 selects as selectable figure elements only a figure element specified through the input operation of an input part 1 among plural figure elements stored in the figure element storage part 3. The element selection part 8 inputs the cursor position information and makes the selecting operation for the figure element at the input part 1 effective when the selecting operation is done for the selectable figure element specified by the filter processing part 9. The display control part 6 performs control for displaying the selectable figure element, selected figure element, and unselectable figure elements in mutually different styles at the display part and control for inputting the cursor position information and information from the respective parts and displaying various necessary information at the display part 4.
