PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recognition device which eliminates the need for adjustment or requires only a little adjustment and is high in flexibility irrelevantly to the kind of equipment. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a color space conversion part 10 which receives RGB data and CMYK data and finds a standard color space value and a recognition part 20 which receives the standard color space value outputted from the color space conversion part and performs recognition processing. The recognition processing is carried out according to the standard color space value which is the absolute value of a color, so there is no variance in value among devices. That is, the recognition algorithm of the recognition part 20 can be made common and even a specific color constituting a specific pattern of the object to be recognized is extracted precisely with a high recognition rate.
