PURPOSE: An image forming apparatus is provided to absorb vibration generated during rotation of a photosensitive drum and produce a compact image forming apparatus. CONSTITUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum(50), an electrostatic latent image forming device for forming an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive drum, a developer for developing the electrostatic latent image, a transfer drum(60) for transferring the electrostatic latent image to a recording paper, and a cleaner for removing toner left on the photosensitive drum. The image forming apparatus further includes a damper(70) for maintaining a predetermined rotation resistance at the rotation axis of the photosensitive drum. The damper is composed of a rotation plate rotating together with the photosensitive drum, a housing surrounding the rotation plate to close the plate, and a viscous fluid filled in the housing to friction-resist the rotation of the rotation plate.
