PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive having a manual search function excellent in operability. SOLUTION: The manual search is performed from information TNO(n+1) recorded on the outer peripheral side of an information recording and reproducing medium to information TNO(n) recorded on the inner peripheral side. When a part (silent) between pieces of music exists between information on the outer peripheral side and the inner peripheral side and the search is performed toward the front end position Pb of information on the outer peripheral side, the search of the part (silent) between pieces of music is not performed by skipping the search from the front end position Pb to an end position Pc of the information TNO(n) on the inner peripheral side. Therefor, in the manual search, the part (silent) between pieces of music unnecessary for a user is not subjected to the search, but only necessary information is searched continuously, thus excellent operability is provided for the user.
