PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a sintered end mill that is free of the chipping of a tip face cutting edge face and peripheral cutting edges especially in high-speed cutting and exhibits an excellent wear resistance. SOLUTION: This sintered end mill, composed of a shank portion and a cutting edge portion with a tip face taken as a cutting edge face and with peripheral cutting edges formed, comprises a sintered body having a structure consisting of a dispersed phase accounting for 80 to 95% by area and a binder phase and unavoidable impurities in the remaining amount. The dispersed phase constituting the sintered body comprises a (W, Co, Cr) C monophase substantially including, in WC, 0.1 to 3% by mass of Co and 0.1 to 2% by mass of Cr in solid solution. The binder phase comprises a Co-base alloy monophase (including traces of W, V and C in solid solution) including Cr averagely accounting for 1 to 8% by mass in the binder phase. The sintered body has a structure including V accounting for 0.1 to 1% by mass throughout the sintered body and aggregating in the interface region between the dispersed phase and the binder phase.
