PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the damper gears of a device having a mechanism for transporting trays and a mechanism for clamping disks. SOLUTION: The disk recording or reproducing device has a base 5 which is mounted with a turntable 20 on a chassis 1 and a pickup 2 which emits a laser beam to a signal surface of the disk D attachably and detachably and freely movably disposed at the turntable 20. The chassis 1 is freely retractably provided with the tray 4 for horizontally transporting the disk D. The damper gear 6 meshed with the tray 4 and a slide body 9 for lifting the base 5 by interlocking to the retraction operation of the tray 4 are disposed on the chassis 1.
