PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate trouble that the speed of an optical adjusting means can not be adjusted from a demand side in the case of using the demand which is not equipped with a speed varying variable resistor. SOLUTION: This optical device is equipped with a device-side driving command operation means 1 outputting a command signal for controlling the driving speed of the optical adjusting means 8 such as a lens and the like in response to operation, and a speed varying means (speed varying variable resistor) 6 variably setting the driving speed of the optical adjusting means corresponding to the command signal. The device is provided with a selection means 18 capable of selecting whether the setting of the speed varying means is made effective or ineffective with respect to the command signal from an external driving command operation means (demand) 21 outputting the command signal for controlling the driving speed of the optical adjusting means from the outside of the optical device in response to the operation when the means 21 is connected.
