PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized object reading device that can contactlessly ready an object such as a fingerprint. SOLUTION: The object reading device is provided with an image forming means 2 that is an assembly of lens systems having a mapping capability of an erected unmagnification image and an image sensor 3, and the image forming means 2 and the image sensor 3 are respectively placed at a position at which the image sensor 3 can read the image of an object 1 that is going to be read by the image sensor 3 is transferred and formed by the image forming means 2.
