CARD PAYMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD

PURPOSE: A card payment system and method are provided to prevent a card number from being disclosed when a payment is performed using a card. CONSTITUTION: A channel filtering unit(4) is provided for selecting broadcasting signals from the exterior in accordance with a user's selection. A card reader(3) reads a password for confirming the possessor of a financial transaction card and user's information for managing a card payment. An input unit(5) is provided for inputting the password for confirming the possessor of a financial transaction card, a purchase detail of a commodity of an external company or a service. A memory temporarily stores the inputted purchase detail. A communication unit(7) is provided for receiving a communication with an external company(17) and a broadcasting signal. A control unit(10) permits a transaction to the external company(17) in accordance with the information inputted from the card reader(3) and the input unit(5).
