PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high response thermocouple in which durability is enhanced by means of an outer protective tube and temperature measuring response is improved at the forward end part by dividing an inner protective. SOLUTION: An outer protective tube 1 is formed into a laminate structure of first ceramic layer 11 and a second ceramics layer 10 containing hot water repellent BN in order to enhance durability. An inner protective tube 2 comprises a front ceramics protective tube 3 having a high thermal conductivity, and a pipe-like heat shielding rear protective tube 4 forming an air layer 18. Since the front end part 5 of the front protective tube 3 projects from the outer protective tube 1 to the outside, temperature measuring response is improved.
