PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation building capable of improving an effective utilization factor of a space more than usual, capable of reducing a cost and capable of improving workability. SOLUTION: An upper structure 4 is supported by a column 3 erected from a lower structure 2. The column 3 is formed so that the horizontal rigidity becomes smaller than the upper structure 4. A damper 10 for damping horizontal vibration of the upper structure 4 is interposed between the upper structure 4 and an underground outer wall 9.
