PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rationally charge a portable communication apparatus at low running costs. SOLUTION: A portable communication apparatus can be attached detachably to this portable communication apparatus charger. The charger has a charging connection terminal part 2 which is connected to a battery built in the portable communication apparatus, a battery 3 as a charging power supply, an output adjustment part 4 which adjusts the output of the battery and applies the adjusted output to the charging connection terminal part 2, a commercial power supply connection part 5 which is connected to a commercial power supply, and a charging circuit 6 which charges the battery built in the portable communication apparatus and the battery 3 as the charging power supply with a power from the commercial power supply via the commercial power supply connection part 5. If the commercial power supply is available, both the batteries are charged by the commercial power supply and, if the commercial power supply is not available, the battery built in the portable communication apparatus is charged by the battery 3 as the charging power supply.
