PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an erroneous dialing detecting system for detecting erroneous dialing of a received telephone number and informing a calling person of erroneous dialing. SOLUTION: A database 40 responds to the registering inquiry of the received telephone number from a telephone number retrieval control part 62. A data retrieving part 42 retrieves a data storage part 41 and detects the presence/ absence of registering of numerical data to judge whether a call is normal or abnormal. In the case of the abnormal call, when detecting the excessive or short digits, the erroneous number of an optional digit or the alternation of adjacent number of an optional digit, the database 40 selects numerical data which is the nearest to inquired numerical data from the data storing data and informs the telephone number retrieval control part of it. The telephone number retrieval control part inquires of the calling person whether the call is originated with a received telephone number or a similar telephone number by a telephone number message and carries out call processing in accordance with response information from the calling person.
