PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for imposing bill charging on a called party without the use of a special function in an information transmission system by polling. SOLUTION: The information system of this invention is characterized in that a 1st information transmission/reception terminal having a polling transmission function transmits a patternized ringer denoting a polling request to a 2nd information transmission/reception terminal, the 1st information transmission/reception terminal is kept in a communication OFF standby state after the transmission, the 2nd information transmission/reception terminal receiving the transmission recognizes the polling request and a caller number of the 1st information transmission/reception terminal in an on-hook state, and the 2nd information transmission/reception terminal makes a call to the 1st information transmission/reception terminal on the basis of the recognition of the polling request and the recognition of the caller number so that the 2nd information transmission/reception terminal transmits prescribed information to the 1st information transmission/reception terminal or the 2nd information transmission/ reception terminal captures prescribed information from the 1st information transmission/reception terminal.
